February 10 2;00 PM  - Rembrandt and the Art of the 17th Century at the Bothell Library. Presented by Susan Olds, Art Historian
Come to the library for a free slide lecture and preview of an exciting new art exhibit! Opening February 14, and running through May 19, the Seattle Art Museum is hosting an impressive exhibit of Dutch and English art: Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London. Known as the Iveagh Bequest, the collection includes approximately 50 major works by Gainsborough, Hals, Rembrandt, Reynolds, Romney, Turner, and Van Dyck, among others. This introduction to the exhibit will focus on the paintings and lives of the Dutch Masters and the many changes in European art during the Protestant Reformation, and will also include an overview of 18th century British artists Turner, Gainsborough and Reynolds.
Books and DVDs on the period and artists will be available for checkout following the program.

The City of Bothell is looking for Volunteers:

Get involved and give back to your community! Citizens are invited to apply for the City of Bothell's boards and commissions, which serve as advisory groups to the City Council. Positions are available on the Landmark Preservation Board, Library Board, Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, Parks & Recreation Board, Planning Commission and the Shorelines Board. The application period for these positions is open now and closes at 5 pm on Friday, February 8, 2013. Applications are available online or at the City Clerk's office, Bothell City Hall, 18305 101st Avenue NE, Bothell, WA 98011, phone: 425.486.3256. While some positions require applicants to be residents, several of the positions are open to residents of Bothell's urban growth area and non-residents.  Contact the City Clerk's office to learn more.


Volunteers are being sought to help on Parr Creek, which runs through the North Creek Business Park and North Creek Sportsfields. The City of Bothell and its project partner, King Conservation District (KCD), will remove invasive weeds and plant native species that will eventually grow to shade the creek and provide cooler, cleaner water downstream to the Sammamish River. Volunteers will help with this weeding and planting.   • Electronics (tvs (any size), computers, laptops, tablets, monitors (LCD and CRT), peripherals, cell phones and accessories, printers, peripherals (mice, keyboards, cables etc.), components (hard drives, memory, etc.), software (less than 5 years old), all printers, ink and toner cartridge

Get free tickets offered from Bellevue Arts Museum, KidsQuest Children's Museum and Washington State History Museum!                                       
 KCLS has partnered with area museums to offer free museum passes. 
Register online by following these easy steps:
1. Select the museum of your choice & click “Free Pass”
2. Choose the date of your choice & enter your information to register.
3. Print your email confirmation, which serves as your admission ticket.
4. Take your email confirmation to the museum when you visit.
Register for your free museum pass up to two weeks in advance of the day you plan to visit. Online registration opens daily at noon. Passes are good for general admission and are limited to one per family.
